2008 Emails

Subject: Re: AMSOIL

Good Afternoon
I purchased AMSOIL and a filter from you recently.
I have a five year old Harley Softail Deuce, I changed the engine, transmission and primary chaincase oils using AMSOIL.
The bike has never sounded so good or run so well, a brilliant product at a reasonable price.
I will be using AMSOIL from now on.

Best regards

Peter H.

Hi there, just a breif note to say how very impressed I am with the Amsoil 0W-30 Series 2000 oil I purchased from you over a year ago. It is still in my wifes Volvo and believe it or not, it is only a brown colour, and not the black colour I would expect, as I used to use Mobil 1. I have just ordered the 5W-30(3000) to put in my Citroen Diesel which I m sure is the best oil on the market.

Kind Regards
Marc C.

Don,
Just a note to say how pleased I am with the Amsoil MTF Synthetic synchromesh gear oil. After just 25 miles, I was already noticing the difference and it is getting better the more miles I travel too. The gearchanges ARE smoother, it is now much easier to select all the gears and it makes my 1983 SAAB much more enjoyable to drive.
I highly recommend you for your service to date, and for the excellent product.

Many thanks

Subject: Re: Amsoil for Legends Racing

Consider me your most delighted customer!!
What can I say - The first time I use your AMSOIL I go and win the World Finals!!
Having spent this season toiling with engine overheating problems in the UK I have just returned from Sears Point (USA) competing and winning the World Semi-Pro Legends final in a hired car.
The guys I hired from really knew what they were doing and they swear by AMSOIL - and I guess they should know, they're accustomed to running much longer races in far hotter conditions!
The engine took everything I could throw at it and oil temperatures remained calm throughout.
So, guess what's going in my car for next season - AMSOIL Series 2000 20W-50 Racing Oil

Many thanks for a great oil and all your subsequent help and advice.

Glenn Burtenshaw (UK Legends driver, no 72).

Don,
Oops did not get your email until now. Thnx for sending directly to the Garage.
You are really good and correct most garages just do a 'half-way' job of removing the drain tap leaving almost 60% of the dirty ATF still in circulation.
I insisted on a complete Torque converter drain - hence the need to order more ATF. The difference in the way the car drives is breath-takingly transformed to almost 'new car', smooth shifts, steady acceleration. MB used to say that the boxes were sealed for life and never need changing. Totally rubbishes bit of advice. When I spoke to the engineer he said the MB are now recommending changes

Don,
Thank you very much for sending me the small bottle of oil in time for the weekend. I received it on Saturday 27 May at 08:30 and used it to going flying all day.
The full order arrived at around 13:00 on Saturday by Royal Mail (not Parcel Force).
Without the emergency oil I would have had to wait around all day not knowing when or whether the full order would arrive.
I am grateful for the excellent service which enabled me to enjoy my hobby. I recommend Performance Oils Ltd to all my friends at the flying field.

Thanks and regards,
Ralph

Goods received yesterday as promised. Thanks very much for the great service.
I will post positive feedback in the ClubVR4 forum and the Lotuselancentral forum (I also run a Lotus Elan M100).
Are you interested in offering the Lotus Elan group some form of promotional discount, like you do ClubVR4 members?
The Lotus technical spec also states 10W-30 as the recommended grade for the turbocharged Lotus engine so there are 1500 registered members of this group trying to source this grade unless they are still paying Lotus service charges

Hi Maria,
I have just sent through the money to Paypal (£31.89). As discussed in the phone call, the items are delivered from the UK to outside the EU so VAT is not payable.
A very efficient service – I look forward to using you again.
Thank you for your help,

Subject: RE: Amsoil M.P. Metal Protector & Penetrant

Hi Don Received this morning. Great service thank you. The Amsoil MP is for protecting model helicopter engines as the bearings tend to rust when not used, this is thought to be due to the type of fuel we use, I will post your details RunRider which is a world wide chat site for model heli flyers, you might get some takers from the UK flyers.

Ken

Ordered the same oils plus severe gear oil for the diff and had the AYC fluid changed. Car felt superb, especially the gear changes.
Would recommend doing the ATF even if the oil was replaced recently. My ATF looked fine but wasnt the correct grade as Amsoil is. Noticed an immediate difference when it was replaced.

Ahhh condor... after amsoil engine flush and new 0/30 oil..promising first impressions..
no more ticking, which is unusual for fresh oil me ole car, as it normally dissapears after a couple hundred miles of oil an change.. will be interesting to see when the dreaded tick comes back..
Usually after 3500 miles ....

Thanks again for speedy service Don :-)

I haven't tried the engine oil yet...Will do tomorro but...
thought I would add to the Amsoil appreciation thread.. as dealing with performance oils was friendly, informative, helpful and very speedy... Goods received in about 32 hours after placing order...
That, with all the very encouraging comments about their products, I will definitely be trying the gear oils/ATF next time round...

Thanks very much!

Just ordered some gearbox oil from Don (AMSOIL).
Very helpful and friendly, as I have the car booked in for Saturday he upgraded my order to next day delivery.
And the club discount has paid back my membership fees for this year.

Top marks to AMSOIL for service.

Well I finally have my car back on the road. WHat a nightmare! But that is for another thread.
I have to say, after 100 miles I am very impressed with the Amsoil. I still have ticking, but much better than it was and it seems to be getting better still. The gearbox is the dodgy one we fitted last november and it is settling in far quicker than it did last time.

I will update this thread in the future, but so far I am convinced the extra money spent was worth it.

Well, my car's going to xtreme on friday for yet another bloody service. I have two test kits from Don. Last service we changed from whatever xtreme usually uses to amsoil's turbo 0W-30, so there's bound to be some contamination. I'll get a sample of this when it's drained (I've done 5000miles on it now), and send it off. I'm leaving the ATF this time (just changing the filter), and will be using the 2nd kit to send of a sample of this.
I'm not sure how long the analysis takes, but the lab should have both samples early next week. I'll post as soon as I get the results.
Incidently, this is the 2nd time I've ordered amsoil from don & co, and as before service was excellent, and delivery like greased lightning. I also ordered 12x500ml bottles of Motul RBF600 racing brake fluid from Oilman, who gave similarly excellent service, a good price, and speedy delivery.
Gonna have to wait till payday though, but need some ATF and engine oil.

Have to say Don, from looking at this and your other posts, I like your approach. You big up your own product, as you should, but fair play, you never diss any other product that you compete with on the market. Always have a good thing to say about the competition and give good, positive advice on their products too. I really like your approach.

I feel its about time I treated the machine to a bit of loving (with it being valentines and all that). And after all the great feedback from the other guys, I think this is the best way.

Gonna have to wait till payday though, but need some ATF and engine oil.

I changed all of my oils to Amsoil at the weekend before the trackday at Donny. I noticed an immediate improvment in my engine. It got rid of my lifter tick in about 30 seconds and the ATF has made a noticeable improvement to the shift quality in the gearbox although that could just be down to me flushing it properly and not leaving it to Mitsubishi.

The car came in for a good thrashing on Sunday and never missed a beat. The shift quality did not degrade and the engine did not become noisier and even though it got revved hard constantly for 20 mins at a time the engine temp never rose above normal. I think that is testament to the friction reducing properties of the oil.
I would be interested in testing the oil now it has been worked hard and the turbos have tried their hardest to boil it. How much is a test kit Don?

p.s. I changed the AYC clutch pack fluid aswell and that is now totally silent in operation and believe me it operated alot on sunday!

All I can say is that you won't regret it. Particularly the ATF - this stuff REALLY benefits the INVECS 'box.
The Series 2000 0w-30 has already made a noticeable difference to my car on cold starts, but it's 'acid test' will be what shape the oil is in after 3,000 miles... Previously, every single 'synthetic' oil I've used has come out nearly black and decidedly horrible.
I was that impressed with the effect on Ariadne that I ordered some Amsoil SAE 30 (Now 0w/30) diesel oil for Skarloey. It's now in and I will shortly be changing the gearbox oil for the Amsoil equivalent too. I will report my findings.

So far, the amsoil Diesel oil has produced similar benefits to the petrol stuff - the engine feels more eager to rev and is smoother, and there's a lot less vapour/fumes escape if you stop the engine and open the oil filler cap after a long run..... It's not burning!

I have always believed in good, quality fluids changed regularly - but Amsoil seems to be in a different league!
At the next oil change interval, I will get a testing/analysis kit from Don to see what state the oil is in - no point changing if it's still within specification!
